WHY IS
IT
IMPORTANT THAT WE
SAVE
by
Larry D. Svec
My
friend TomE recently wrote me a note:
"About
the swans ... park across from Bill Becker's Timberlane Farms
where they
park the horse trailers and walk down the horse trail ... get to the
bottom of
the hill by the watershed and look to your right ... you will see swans
... a
nest of at least 3 maybe 4 baby swans ... you need binoc's but they are
there,
and very visible ... "
Well,
having seen Tom’s note today, my son said to me,
"Dad,
I’d like to take a hike with
you for Father’s Day."
So we
grabbed binoculars and camera and hit the trail, the same
trail Tom described above.
A father
duck proudly swam with his baby ducks.
Then a father swan proudly swam with his baby
swans. And on the
trail, this dad
proudly hiked with his son.
This is why we must save Lakewood: So that, on every Father’s Day, the ducks, swans and proud dads can swim these ponds and hike these trails forever.
Happy
belated Father's Day for all you dads out there,
especially the ducks and swans!
